Critical Theory in the Humanities. Resonances of the work of Judith Butler

The VU’s big congress on the work of Judith Butler is approaching. The full programme is now online at www.butleramsterdam.com

There are still some tickets for the full conference left, including the evening lecture of Judith Butler on the evening of Thursday April 6th. If you just want to attend parts of the conference (while single day tickets for Thursday and tickets for just Thursday evening are sold out), you can still buy a day ticket for Wednesday afternoon, including keynotes by Amelia Jones, Aagje Swinnen and Achille Mbembe, or a day ticket for Friday, including 8 conference panels (with quite a few art-related panels), a lecture by Charlotte Witt, a conversation by Judith Butler with Monique David-Ménard, and a performance by German artist Johannes Paul Raether at the Stedelijk Museum.

There are also single tickets available for the Butler-David-Ménard conversation on Friday, and for the lecture of Achille Mbembe on Wednesday evening.

Furthermore, there is a pre-conference event organized by LIMA Amsterdam on Tuesday April 4, a video screening on the topic of Gender and Performativity. See http://www.li-ma.nl/site/news/lima-collection-gender-performativity
