Print this page
June 13 till 27, 2016

The seminar focuses on ways to structure your art- or architectural historical PhD thesis. The participant will examine and discuss published examples and will also present the (provisory) structure of his/her own thesis to each other for further discussion. As such this course is especially useful to PhD candidates who are in their second or third year and/or are looking or working on the final structure for their thesis.

Teacher: Konrad Ottenheym, professor for architectural history, Utrecht University.

Enrolment is possible until May 1th 2016. Please send an e-mail to info@onderzoekschoolkunstgeschiedenis.nl.

External PhD candidates (buitenpromovendi) may enroll as well, after presenting a letter of recommendation by their promotor.

First meeting: June 13th, 14.00-17.00 in Utrecht: Discussion of existing research plans and tables of content, their structures, different styles and possibilities to arrange the material.

Second meeting: June 20th, 14.00-17.00 in Utrecht: Analysis and comparison of recent dissertations and some from long ago. Participants bring their favorite books that may serve as their role models.
